SMOKE BREAK Funny, not nice
The funny quit-smoking app that doesn't believe in you
My Last Smoke Break is a funny quit-smoking app with a rude sense of humor: $20 once, no subscription. At your usual smoke break it asks if you took one, then shows a card of where that habit can lead, with a line from the Clerk or Darlene. It is not a treatment.
What kind of funny
Dark, deadpan, and at your expense. No streaks, no badges, no little tree that grows. A few real lines from the deck:
- "Good news — they finance. You've already put $2,340 down."
- "Your retirement plan called. This is it."
- "Pickled. Labeled. Yours are free-range, for now."
You pick the tone when you sign up, and you can turn it down to standard any time. 18+ for language.
The two who run your file
| Character | Day job | Style |
|---|---|---|
| The Clerk | Dept. of Lost Causes. Hearse driver, repo man, oxygen delivery. | He's not mad. He's counting. |
| Darlene | Nail tech, stylist, crossing guard. | Calls you sugar right before she says the thing. |
Why a quit app should be funny
Most smokers already know every fact. What's missing is somebody in the room at 2:15 who says it out loud. A joke you'd repeat to a friend sticks better than a fact you've heard a hundred times. That's the bet. No promises.
What it does under the jokes
- You tell it how many you smoke a day. It starts at your real number.
- It learns when your smoke breaks are from your own log.
- Around each one, it checks in: did you take that smoke break, or skip it?
- Each check-in shows a card of where that habit can lead: the money, the hospital, the people.
- Your number goes down over time, at a pace you pick. No promises.
It cuts down a little at a time instead of cold turkey. Cutting down first works as well as cold turkey, according to a 2019 Cochrane review of 51 trials and 22,509 people (Lindson et al., CD013183). That review is about the method, not about this app.
